I've Got Answers!
Why hire a Professional Makeup Artist?
Hiring a Professional Makeup Artist is essential to ensure that you look your very best for the important events in your life. Whether you’re hiring me for your wedding, event, party or photoshoot, I work with you to achieve a look that is cohesive and photographs beautifully. As a professional artist, I am skilled in various application techniques that guarantee a lasting result. I customize the skincare and makeup to you, thus enhancing your natural beauty. Makeup Application is a luxury service and hiring a professional eliminates the added stress of creating the perfect look on the day of your event. Instead, I work with you in advance to create a makeup that is sure to compliment you and leave you looking and feeling your best. When it comes to your wedding specifically, you will already be hiring other vendors to ensure your day is perfect. Makeup is no exception & is just as important as everything else - all eyes are on you that day!
Can I hire you for makeup lessons?
Absolutely. Whether it’s a one on one or group lesson, I can accommodate you! Hiring an experienced Makeup Artist that has worked with diverse clientele is crucial! Whether you want to learn the basics of makeup or master more complicated techniques, I can ensure that the lesson is beneficial to you. As an artist with over 15 years of experience, I offer honest recommendations and a step-by-step guide that is created specifically for you, your individual beauty and preferences. Investing in a makeup class is investing in yourself and I offer tips and tricks that you won't learn at a makeup store.
My wedding is coming up! Can you do mine and my bridesmaids’ makeup?
Yes, I can do makeup for you and your wedding party. If need be, I can bring on additional artists if your wedding party is very large. Whether or not an additional artist will be needed will be discussed during the booking process.
How far in advance should I book you?
For weddings, I book as far as 12 months in advance. However, if you haven’t booked an artist and your wedding is fast approaching - don’t stress! Reach out to me, as I may have an opening. For other events, photoshoots, lessons – again, please reach out with the date you were interested in and I will do my best to accommodate or, in the least, let you know promptly if I am booked.
How do I know my booking is reserved?
A signed contract and 50% of the full agreed upon amount are needed to reserve the date. Sending an inquiry or booking a Makeup Preview do not secure your future date.
Do you provide services on site?
Yes! I am mobile and will travel to your home, hotel or venue to provide my services. Travel fees apply depending on the location. Planning a destination wedding or event out of town? I have traveled from coast to coast for my clients! Feel free to message me about pricing and info regarding destination weddings and out of town events.
Can you stay for touch ups?
I provide 15 min of additional touch ups at the completion of all makeup services. If you would like to add additional touch up time, this must be booked in advance at an additional cost.
Do you offer a Preview?
Yes! Makeup previews aren’t just for weddings anymore. As a matter of fact, I have done makeup previews for those planning photoshoots, mothers of the bride/groom, etc. Makeup previews are recommended to ensure all of the details of your vision are met. During the trial, we will discuss your wedding day or event in detail. This is also the perfect time to address skincare or other concerns as well as share inspiration photos and communicate ideas about your look. For brides in particular, trials are highly encouraged so that there is no miscommunication about the makeup on the day of the wedding. Trials are priced separately from the wedding day makeup cost.
Where does the preview take place?
I will gladly travel to your destination for a preview. Recently, I have also been taking appointments at my home makeup studio. The location of the trial will be determined during the booking process.
When should I book my preview?
Anywhere between 2 and 4 months before your wedding is recommended. For other events, as soon as possible to guarantee availability.
How long do previews and makeup applications take?
Bridal previews are usually 90 minutes or so. Makeup applications are usually 60 minutes. For the bridal party on the day of the wedding, makeup takes around 45 minutes. Lash application takes 10 minutes.
Can I add on or cancel services later?
You are guaranteed the services outlined in the signed contract. Additional services are subject to my discretion as well as availability. After the contract has been signed and submitted, I cannot promise that I myself (or an additional artist) will be able to accommodate your request, but I will express this as soon as it is brought to my attention. I have a cancellation policy in my contract in the event that services need to be reduced, however they may still be subject to partial payment.
Do you airbrush?
Yes. If your specific request is airbrush makeup, I can accommodate that. However, my clients usually leave it up to my discretion to choose the application method I deem best for them, their skin and individual needs.
Do you do body makeup?
Yes. I will conceal minor imperfections on the neck & decolletage as part of the makeup application if requested. However, if you desire tattoo coverup or other extensive body makeup, this requires additional time, specific products and must be mentioned in advance. There is also a separate fee for these types of body makeups. If I am not notified of the need for body makeup in advance, I am not responsible for it on the day of your event.
Can you use my makeup?
I only use my own professional grade makeup when working on clients. If you have a particular concern or request, please communicate that to me in advance. There is a section in my contract that addresses allergies and sensitivities, for example. Otherwise, only my makeup is used.
Are lashes included?
Yes, they are included as part of the makeup application. If you prefer no lashes be applied, simply let me know.
Can you just do my eye makeup?
I do not offer partial makeup application.
Can I get my hair done too?
I specialize in makeup, but I offer basic hairstyling (i.e straightening or curling) on occasion. If you require hairstyling, this must be mentioned in advance. For more complicated styles such as braided looks and updos, I work with talented hairstylists that I can coordinate for you.
What products do you use?
I use a variety of brands that are hand picked by me to ensure quality, long lasting results and that photograph beautifully. I have many favorites and frequently change up my kit to reflect that.
Face Atelier, RCMA, Glossier, ESUM, Chanel, Dior, MAC, NARS, Bobbi Brown, Charlotte Tilbury, Benefit, Makeup Forever, Veil Cosmetics, Viseart, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Danessa Myricks are just some of the brands I favor and use.
