About Me

My name is Joanna and I'm a professional Makeup Artist and Beauty Expert. I provide on location makeup services throughout the greater Chicagoland area & beyond. 

For as long as I can remember, I have been captivated by art. My love of drawing and painting eventually extended into a fascination with makeup, which started with my mother's makeup bag. Fun fact: I gave my first makeover (using real makeup - & lots of blue eyeshadow) at 4, and haven't put my brush down since! I entered the makeup world professionally in 2006, and have dedicated my life to artistry. Somewhere between earning my degree in Applied Psychology (from the University of Illinois at Chicago) and taking appointments on weekends, my greatest passion turned into my full time career.

Throughout my years as a Makeup Artist, I have worked in an array of settings - on photoshoots, fashion shows, films, weddings, in Hollywood FX studios, at conventions and more. I have also worked as a Makeup Artist for both Bobbi Brown and Charlotte Tilbury, and I am committed to not only artistry but also makeup and beauty education. I am always available for both one on one and group classes, and truly love sharing my expertise.

Makeup Artistry is truly fulfilling to me and merges my love of art with my passion for working closely with each client to ensure their vision is realized.

I don't have a favorite makeup style per se, but I believe every makeup application must start with proper skin preparation. From there - the possibilities are endless! I love classic, effortless beauty makeup as well as natural looks, but my expertise also extends to makeup effects, face/body paint, theatrical and avantgarde. I have always worked toward diversifying my skill set as much as possible, and love to experiment.

Lastly, I am devoted to creating an experience that is memorable, personal and tailored to each client in my chair. I look forward to hearing from you!
